I never really drew much as a child..... but in 2015, when I had a bad case of writers block and wasn't recording music much... I decided to draw a picture of Jesus. I got great joy out of it. I prayed most of the way through the process. I didn't know much about the art of drawing. I had only ever had number 2 pencils and copy paper, but I wanted to learn more about contrast and photorealism... so I started studying the craft. I realized that charcoal would give me the really dark darks that I was looking for. My next subject would be Tupac. I wanted to draw people that inspired me or that I thought were beautiful souls. I also realized that I enjoyed the art of drawing deceased people... because I would speak to them as I brought them to "life". It was definitely the birth of a grand love of photorealism.

Now, after purchasing many different types of pencils and paper... I have developed a technique that I find very spiritual. Depending on the subjects history and background, I will put on his or her music or recorded speeches and begin scratching the paper slowly with various utensils. Speaking to them with every stroke. I find the process so intimate and relaxing. Watching their faces manifest on that paper is very rewarding. Each piece I create is my personal tribute to them. On average I spend anywhere from 6 to 21 hours per drawing.

I draw the originals on 8.5"X11" paper. They are then scanned and turned into large canvas prints. I personally build the wooden frames and stretch the canvas myself. Then, each one is signed in gold.

I am currently working on a top-shelf art book describing intricate details of my process. It should be available for purchase in the latter part of 2018.
